On November 9th, 2020 the BC NDP Government utilized the Covid 19 – Recovery Act and has issued a ban on all rent increases issued effective immediately. This ban will remain in effect until July 10, 2021 until it is reassessed.
What does this mean for me as a tenant?
You will continue to pay your regular rent amount prior to the notice of rent increase. No changes will take place until the government notifies us in 2021 and we will give you advance notice of any new developments.
What does this mean to me as a landlord/property owner?
Your current rental rate you are receiving from your rental property will not increase – will give you advance notice of any new developments. In the meantime, you can contact your property manager directly for more details & updates on this.
